The problem is, the last-gen 24” iMac also used IPS panels—it just wasn’t advertised. So I’m not sure how much I buy this line of reasoning, or, if I do buy it, it was also true but unadvertised in the last generation.

(Some of the posters in the Mac Ach figured this out: see http://episteme.arstechnica.com/groupee/forums/a/frm/f/8300945231 . I can’t the specific threads, however.)
